Supporting Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Business Collaboration Across Australia
1. What is First Nations Directory?
First Nations Directory is an Indigenous-owned and operated platform designed to connect Indigenous businesses with corporate companies, government agencies, community organisations, and everyday consumers.
It’s more than just a directory — it’s a movement for economic empowerment, cultural recognition, and genuine collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australia.
2. Who is the directory for?
We’re inclusive of:
- Indigenous businesses (small to large, startups to side hustles)
- Non-Indigenous businesses seeking to connect with First Nations suppliers
- Corporations and government departments with RAP or Indigenous procurement goals
- Anyone wanting to discover and support Indigenous-owned businesses
3. What are the benefits of listing my business on First Nations Directory?
For Indigenous businesses:
- Get discovered by companies, government buyers, and local communities
- Unlock partnership and procurement opportunities
- Share your story and grow your digital presence
- Inspire future generations of Indigenous entrepreneurs
For non-Indigenous businesses:
- Meet supplier diversity goals through genuine relationships
- Access culturally aligned partners and professionals
- Build trust and demonstrate your commitment to reconciliation
- Connect with verified Indigenous suppliers and collaborators
4. What makes First Nations Directory different from other platforms?
- Indigenous-led and community-focused
- Inclusive of emerging businesses, even if not formally certified
- Focused on visibility, storytelling, and opportunity — not just compliance
- Affordable pricing and easy onboarding
- Built for action, not bureaucracy

7. How do you verify Indigenous businesses?
We operate on trust, community values, and self-identification.
We welcome businesses that:
- Self-identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander-owned
- Have an active ABN and provide clear business contact details
- Operate with integrity and respect within community and business spaces
We do not require formal “proof of Aboriginality” — instead, we believe in trusting mob and maintaining cultural safety.
To ensure authenticity, all listings are reviewed by our team before going live, and we reserve the right to remove listings that breach community expectations or misuse the platform.
8. Can I filter businesses by location or industry?
Yes — you can search by:
- Industry (e.g., barbers, consultants, artists)
- Location (state or region)
- Ownership status (Indigenous, women owned etc.)
- Keywords
We’re also working on a location-based search that finds businesses near you.
9. Can I support FND beyond listing my business?
Yes — we welcome sponsors and partners.
As a sponsor, you’ll receive:
- Brand visibility on the website
- Logo placement and featured callouts
- Recognition across our LinkedIn and media content
- Opportunities to support Indigenous economic growth directly
Contact us to explore partnership or sponsorship packages.
